We have always had a bulk quantity to save shipping costs. The bulk quantity represented 60 pounds of bullets that were shipped in a Medium Flat Rate box from the USPS. This was and is the least expensive way to ship our bullets.
For 200 grain bullets a box of 500 weighed 15 pounts and 4 boxes fit into that Medium Flat Rate USPS box. Nothing to do here, We made bullets, packaged them in boxes of 500 and waited for an order. You could purchaes 500,1000 or 2000 and get the lowest shipping costs.
For all other bullets; such as 125 grain bullets, the bulk quantity that equaled 60 pounds was 3100 bullets and 4 boxes of 775 bullets each was required. This meant we had to unbox our 500 count box of bullets and repackage them into boxes of 775 each. As we are getting busier, this repackaging operation has become a drag to say the least.
Our plan for all bullets smaller that 200 grains is to make the standard package 1/4 of the bulk quantity. So you may now order 775, 1550 or 3100 and we do NOT have to recount and repackage our inventory.
We will of course do this at the same pricing. As I write this, a box of 500 costs $52, so a box of 775 would cost $52*775/500 = $80.60. This is more money but you are getting these bullets at the same per bullet price with no more shipping charges. We are shipping the larger quantity with the same shipping costs.
You need to pay more for this larger count of bullets, but you are getting them at the same per bullet cost. If this becomes a problem please give us a call and we will work something out.
We will start this change with the larger bullets. The 180 grain bullets have 2200 in a bulk quantity so smallest size boxes would then become 550 and cost would go up 10% (550/500).
With your help and input I'm sure we can seamlessly make this change and have you benefit from the saved shipping costs.
